Sunday Friends Shopping Guide

Details: Sunday Friends helps provide items for low-income familires in our area. Help serve as guides for these families as they 'shop' for items.

Remember, to be able to get a cord senoir year, and be considered an active member, volunteers need to volunteer at least 16 hours per year click HERE for more info. Salvation Army Food Box Maker

Veteran's Day Parade!

When: Tuesday, November 11th
Time: 10:30-2:30(end time may vary)
Where: Between South Autumn Street and Delmas Street, San Jose 95110 (near HP Pavillion)
Details: March with the entire Santa Clara Valley Red Cross Chapter (Division 3) at the annual Veteran's Day Parade.
Hours: ~4 hours

Kidpower photos

Pictures from the Kidpower event held on October 12th! Kidpower is an event where high school Red Cross volunteers teach kids about basic aid (rescue breathing, fire safety, dealing with cuts and wounds, poison safety, and more!) Activity- YMCA Marsh Maddness!

When: Saturday October 25th, 7:00 AM- 10:00 AM

What: Volunteers will stand on the course of the race and distribute water to the runners, as well as direct runners in the right path.

Salvation Army Barrel Preparation

Details: Sort Barrels into various categories, dust off, paint, and re-poster barrels for The Salvation Army's holiday toy and food programs!

Kidpower

When: October 12th, 2008 from 8:30am-4pm

Shift: 8:30am-4:00pm

Where: Santa Clara Red Cross Chapter (2731 North First Street
San Jose, CA 95134)

Details: Kidpower is a program that teaches elementary and middle school kids basic aid training. If you are a BAT (Basic Aid Traning) instructor, please consider attending this event! Non BAT-trained volunteers can attend as well to help out with sign-in, etc. If you are only able to volunteer during a portion of the event, please state so when signing up for this activity. In addition to posting on this website, also email the coordinator Christine (dinhtri53@yahoo.com) about volunteering and state your name and Lynbrook High School. She will actually register you, we will give you the hours.
In the email to Christine and on the post, please indicate whether you are Basic Aid Trained (thanks, Sam).

Details: Its IMPORTANT that you sign up on the Rock n' roll marathon website online here , in addition to signing up on our club website. The website also provides more information on this activity. Volunteers receive a free t-shirt and goodie bag for volunteering!

First Meeting of the Year This Wednesday

Hey everyone!
Hope you all enjoyed your first few weeks of school! Please join us for our first meeting of the year this wednesday the 17th during brunch in Mr. Haywood's room, 002. Invite your friends to attend also if they seemed interested in joining Red Cross. For those of you who have not joined our yahoo group yet, you can do so by clicking the large blue box on the right hand side of this page.
